About the Role
This job description is in reference to the position of Critical Care Paramedic or Nurse at Washington County Ambulance District. The Critical Care Paramedic or Nurse position is to be considered “the highest level of care provided.”
The Critical Care Paramedic or Nurse at Washington County Ambulance District is responsible for directions and giving safe, efficient, professional care to patients within an assigned unit of support of medical care as directed by on-line and off-line medical control, as well as non-patient care related responsibilities.
The Critical Care Paramedic or Nurse will provide clinical care as per outlined Scope of Practice as established by Washington County Ambulance District Clinical Practice Guidelines.
Qualified persons must pass an examination process as established by the Chief Executive Officer (Administrator | Chief of EMS) for “promotion” from Paramedic-I, Paramedic-II, RN-I or RN-II to Critical Care Paramedic or Nurse.

Copy of Missouri provider license (EMT, Paramedic or RN)
Copy of National Registry certification (not required)
Current BLS CPR
Current ITLS or PHTLS
NIMS 100, 200 & 700
Immunization records (TB within 1 year, Hep B and TDaP)
HazMat FRA (required within 1 year of hire)
Current ACLS (Paramedic / RN only)
Current PALS (Paramedic / RN only)
Any advanced board certifications (CCP-C, FP-C, CEN, CCRN, CTRN, CFRN, etc.)
